The Rebirth of Uli Kunkle

12/28/03 is a day I'll never forget.  I drove to Philadelphia to pick up this car in my father-in-law's poorly maintained truck.  I made it from Terre Haute, IN to Philadelphia without incident.  On the return trip, I made it to the east side of Indianapolis and spun a rod bearing.  A more negative person would see that this car was doomed from the start.        I was broke when I bought this car.  Dead broke.  I didn't register the car.  Instead, I stuck it into a garage behind a rental house.  When I sold the house, I moved it home and my e30 325i had to sit outside.  When I sold that house, ALL my cars had to sit outside.        It's now February 2007 and I have a garage again so I started taking the paint off of the car to assess the rust situation.  Below are pictures of what I found. The rockers on both sides are hosed.  There are other rusty parts but those are the worst.  I know the driver's side needs the floor replaced.  I'll update this site as I make some progress.
